An Aurora Store Owner Buys the Infamous “Balloon Boy” Saucer to Put on Display

The infamous “Balloon Boy” saucer created by Richard Heene in October 2009 will go on display today at Mike’s Stadium Sportscards in Aurora. Store owner Michael Fruitman purchased the balloon from a California attorney representing the Heenes.

Richard and Mayumi Heene reported that their 6-year-old son had floated away in a homemade, UFO-shaped helium balloon, touching off a scramble of dozens of emergency responders and two Colorado National Guard helicopters.
