School-cheating probe: Strides led to bonus money
The principal at one of two Denver elementary schools being investigated for cheating on standardized tests was paid at least $32,000 in bonuses as a reward for his students’ high achievement between 2008 and 2011. But, after security procedures for the test were changed, the school saw a dramatic drop this year in third-grade reading scores, the only scores released by the state so far.
